Ruby farming areas
- Verteron Citadel Ruins — main Ruby area
- Ellun River (middle) — fallback Ruby area
Colored circles are Ruby areas; green markers are generic gathering positions.
AION 2 Splendent Ruby Location — Where to Gather Ruby in Verteron
Splendent Ruby is a rare bonus drop from ordinary Ruby deposits. Farm the highlighted Ruby areas — all 133 Verteron gathering node positions are marked.
Quick answer: farm ordinary Ruby deposits around the outer walls of Verteron Citadel Ruins. Use the middle Ellun River when the ruins are busy. Splendent Ruby (Bound) is a rare quest result, not a separate node.
The Splendent Ruby has no node of its own: it drops as a rare bonus while extracting ordinary Ruby deposits. You need one for the [Upgrade] Essence Extraction Specialty Skill quest that raises Essence Extraction from Novice 50 to Professional — Elyos turn it in to Korius, Asmodians to Alzirr in Altgard.
The in-game item is named Splendent Ruby. “Splendid Ruby” is a common search variation for the same upgrade objective.
In Verteron, Ruby deposits concentrate along the outer walls of the Verteron Citadel Ruins, southeast of the Dawn Legion Base, with the middle Ellun River as the fallback when the ruins are farmed out. The two highlighted circles mark these community-confirmed Ruby areas on top of every gathering node position extracted from the client.
Nodes inside the highlighted Ruby areas: 0
| Region | Count |
|---|---|
| Verteron (all gathering nodes) | 133 |
| Total | 133 |
Raise Essence Extraction to Novice 50 and accept [Upgrade] Essence Extraction Specialty Skill. The quest asks for a Splendent Ruby (Bound), so it must drop for you — traded or broker rubies do not count.
Gather Ruby deposits inside the highlighted areas. Each extraction rolls a bonus chance at the Splendent Ruby, so expect to clear the loop several times before it drops.
Nodes respawn at fixed positions. Fly or glide between wall segments to skip mob aggro, and switch to the Ellun River circle when the ruins are stripped by other players.
The 133 markers are every gathering spawn unit in the Verteron client data (build 5.3.2.0). The client fixes node positions but not which resource spawns at each one — that is decided server-side — so the circles show the community-confirmed Ruby farming areas and the markers show the exact node spots inside them.
